Urinal Conversation
Here I stand, all full of beer
The night is young, and friends are near
Some things, we do forget
But not tonight, No Regrets!
I see the crowd, sway like an Ocean
I strut my stuff and walk in slow motion
15 minutes until last call
I Find a girl and give it my all
Slurring my words as they barely come out
I took her home only to pass out
The night is young, and friends are near
Some things, we do forget
But not tonight, No Regrets!
I see the crowd, sway like an Ocean
I strut my stuff and walk in slow motion
15 minutes until last call
I Find a girl and give it my all
Slurring my words as they barely come out
I took her home only to pass out

The Firsts.
This was my first B&W nude. I personally prefer photos that don't show the naughty bits. I shot this in front of an 8 foot softbox. At the time we were using Nikon's d70. I blame it for the blown out highlights. This image is of the same shoot. I tried to mimic an early morning sunlight.
The following is an image I prepared as a mock up for an independent fashion magazine called "Prestige: Canadian Fashion Magazine." It was rejected for photo of a local "celebrity. " I'd like to put the blame on that, for the magazine not putting out a second issue. I did a 5 page spread in the magazine for a local designer. (I will post those images once I get her permission) It was my first publication.
Here's a link to the site. There you can see the cover they chose instead.

Blast from the past
This is a scan I found from first year. It was actually one of the first prints I made in College. 2003 was it? A lot has happened. I still think of how exciting it was to play around in a studio a few times a week. I'm looking to have a few personal projects on the go this summer. I'm very interested in collaborating with other creative minds. With the amount of creative people I know, it's amazing how Ottawa is still not recognized as a place for artists. Any ideas welcome.

March 14th, 2009, It was one of those virtually cloudless skies that were still so rich with color. Joined by my fellow Photographer and long time friend Lee Ladouceur, we set off to shoot, and enjoy the falling sun. With my recent interest in HDR photography(HDR is when 2 or more photos are combined to gain detail in high contrast situations), my original plan was to bracket everything while locking everything down on a tripod. I set up my current 5D with my canon 70-200mm L/2.8 lens and set the camera to manual. Shooting RAW and JPG simultaneously I set my focus and started to shoot. Slowing my shutter speed little by little, bringing the continuous photos I was taking to become closer to the proper exposure, as well as going too bright and back down. After reviewing my first few shots on the back of the camera quickly, I saw the scene in a completely different way.
The recent release of the 5D MKII, with the result of digital video being thrown into the world of digital photography, my intrest was bound to evolve. I set the camera to my prefered exposure and kept shooting. Starting with the manifestation of smoke only to disapear like a boring yet amazing phenomenon that we've all seen a million times. Later to move on to other scenes that had captures my interest. I started to play with manual focus, and zooming and decided I was going to take every photo from the day, and put it into a video. Sorry about the speed of the end of the video. I didn't know how to change the frame rate for the video production. This is the final product, Enjoy.
Help me justify $3000 for the 5D MKII.

If you can't beat'm, Join'm!
If any of you have seen Bryan lately, his beard was getting a little out of control. He decided he was going to shave it down to a light scruff, but before he did I mentioned that I should take a quick photo. This is what I came up with. The reason for the title is we've been on this rant about central banks and many many theories as to why, the world as we know it, will end.I'd like to think it looks pretty legit. I used my duvet cover as a background. One large shoot through umbrella real close to Bryan. A small speedlight pointing up at the duvet in the background. I used my 70-200mm L @f4, and probably the first time in years where I've used manual focus instead of auto... this was one of the sharp ones.
